Misty, "Mrs. Pippa Peppers":
"A real class act." The few that know the real
Misty understand her the best. Probably one of the
strongest individuals in the business for being able to
roll with every punch thrown her way. She was born
to a litter of pure breeds in a small town in Kansas.
She was content with her simple life there until someone
from Hollywood saw her modeling photos in a puppy
calendar. From that moment when she had to say
goodbye to her mother and siblings, she knew things
would never be the same. The camera loved her, and
apparently so did everyone else. She dated
everyone's dog from JFK Jr.'s to Brad Pitt and Angelina
Jolie's. Everywhere she went, the cameras
followed. Every time she was at the dog park, the
paparazzi was there. It took two years, or 14
doggy years, for her to become comfortable pooping in
public. Any moment she thought she had to herself
would resurface the next day in the tabloids. She
was a smart girl, she knew this would happen and
expected it. This is what set her apart from other
stars, she accepted it because it was the life she had
chosen. Again, she was content, and seemingly
happy, until a scandal almost ruined her career.
It was a dark night, darker than most, when Misty's
limousine made an unexpected stop. She thought
nothing of it when the driver exited the 110 freeway at
Redondo. Maybe they were getting gas, she thought.
She then knew something was up when the road turned into
Compton Boulevard. Her suspicions about her
companion's drug problems came to fruition as she
learned he was on his way to score a major deal on some
crack and a new baby Chihuahua. Those on the
outside saw this as jealousy, that she was being
replaced by a younger potential talent, but those that
knew her well saw that she didn't want any other puppy
to grow up the way she did. She was at the scene
of the crime when her companion died in a flaming crack
house. She stayed out of the limelight for a while
after that and adopted a new family. After the
media storm died down, she started working again.
Now that the worst is behind her and the best of her
years are to come, Misty is taking on smaller, and
perhaps more challenging, film roles that mean more to
her career than fame and money. She can be seen in
an upcoming short film at the 2008 Sundance Film
Festival.
