Tonya Cornelisse,
Writer/"Jules":
Most recently, Tonya is recognized as Melissa in Cingular’s dropped call
campaign, “Two Day Rule.” Her film Credits include The Gypsy Years,
Spike Lee's 25th Hour, Ruby, 15 Minutes, and starred in the
romantic horror flick, Zombie Honeymoon. In addition to her versatility,
she also played a Marilyn Monroe-like character in the upcoming dark comedy
Actor. In television, Tonya has been seen on "As the World Turns," and “Law
and Order: SVU” and recently played patient Emily Wilson on “ER.” She also
records voice over for radio and animation, most notably the sci-fi web
sensation “Afterworld.”
Staying busy in theatre,
Tonya was the recipient of the Best Supporting Actress award at The Humana
Festival by the Actors theatre of Louisville and the theatre Critics
Association. She was seen at the Public Theatre in NYC in the production of the
new play "Stop IT” and was also part of the Off-Broadway Mentor series (with AR
Gurney) at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Joseph Fischer's "Thunderbird." Other New
York and Regional Theater include: “The Tempest” at the Looking Glass Theater,
“Worm Day” at the Darryl Roth Theatre, “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” “Three Tall
Women,” and a workshop of SIN! with the National Actors Theater. Originally
from the High Five of America, Tonya holds a BFA from NYU and currently studies
under acting coaches Harold Guskin and George Dicenzo.
